Being a true believer of this Gandhian doctrine,
Mr.
Apurba Ghosh
has been rendering service in the remote rural areas of
North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India.
With zeal to help the less fortunate residing in the vast
underprivileged sectors of Chota Bankra, Bara Bankara, Kaijuri, he
started providing humanitarian aids to the needy, offered financial
support to innumerable poor students, distributed clothes and blankets
during winter, organized medical camps. In 2000, the rural residents of
Basirhat sub division were victim of a fatal flood. Mr. Ghosh was the
first to reach the flood affected zone and along with other local youths
organized relief camps, distributed food, clothes, medicines, counseled
people to start life afresh. Arranging all by himself the
much expensive spinal cord operation of Ganessh Ghosh of Aturia in a
premiere hospital, or providing financial help to Md. Hassan and
Md.Roisuddin Gazi to marry of their daughters are only a few examples of
Mr. Ghosh’s philanthropic activities. Soon he realized he couldn’t cater
to the ever increasing needs of the rural people all alone
.Inspired by his passion for philanthropy some young and experienced
enthusiastic like- minded people from various milieu gathered to form
“ASHA-O-ALO”, an NGO to render Hopes and Light among the underprivileged
sector of the society . We are active in the field of education,
poverty elimination, women empowerment, health-hygiene, entrepreneurship
development and we all work with a mission of tomorrows’ prosperous
rural India. |
