Justification of the Project: Education is must for every kid. But Chota Bankra of North 24 pargana depicts a different picture. Being a remote border side area much of the people here are economically shattered and hence they employ their children either in household works or field work or else where to earn some money. Rather these kids are rundown from primary education. All though some of parents send their kids to school, due to socio economic reason ‘dropouts’ increases rapidly. The rise in school dropouts or no primary education amid the growing up kids is a matter of concern. In this context ASHA-O-ALO emphasized the project “Edification of Poor Kids in Rural Sector” aiming to felicitate primary education for the rural children in every house of Chota Bankra. |

Our Objectives: We have set our goals in three different objectives: a) A massive campaign is being carried out to mobilize parents here to let their kids attend schools on regular basis. b) Volunteers of ASHA-O-ALO organize free education classes for the children here c) For the dropouts we have systemized special classes involving experimental studies, communication skill development, familiarization with locality-state-country, encouraging gaming activities, uplifting cultural attitude and motivating them for further continuing of studies under open universities. No child should be denied joys of education. |

Our Achievements and the Milestones Ahead: ASHA-O-ALO started with 15 children first time in the year 2005. The number has now touched 80 in Chota Bankra. We provide all sorts of educational materials including slates, wall maps, pens, bags, uniforms and more. Also we provide nutrious food sometimes. Our teachers are well experienced in nursery teachings and they take much care of these poor children. Every month we organize small plays where children enthusiastically take part. We also keep watch on their health and maintain health chart of each pupil here. Free medical checkups are given to these children. We provide toys for easy development of brainpower. Within the short tenure many school dropouts are now attending vocational training under our patronage. In this year we require funds to build up a school building where we can arrange further better classes. We urgently need books-exercise copies and other study materials, experimental equipments, intelligence developing toys, nutrious food and health drinks on regular basis, computers, communication skill development materials, library, musical instruments, exercising materials, uniforms, umbrellas and raincoats, bags, geometry box, pens etc…. for our regular schoolings. Also we request some monetary aid on monthly basis for our teachers who are engaged in this project. |
